Here we must discuss, “weaker section”. What is “weaker section”? Is this about the physical, mental or economical strength. So yes, this is about all.

The same law maker never see a man as weaker even if the man is physically or financially challenged. So it will not be wrong to state that considering women as “weaker” is not more than the law makers myth.

Even today, you can see woman working as CEO and also working on top posts. They participating in running the country. We had female President Ho’ble Pratibha Devisingh Patil, Prime minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, Smt Sushma Swaraj served as Minister of External Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman has also served as Minister of Defence and presently she is serving as Minister of Finance.

More importantly that “violence on male by women is a matter of laugh, while this is a serious offence if the violence happened on female.”

So women has secured their position every where, be it judiciary or legislation or any other front. But due to myth of the law makers, men and Indian families are suffering.

Now the society has changed, but our laws are century old, which required to be reformed in changing society and changing family system. Its time to take-up domestic violence on male.

According to Article 14 of Constitution of India, “every one should be equal before law”. But we see gross violation of Article 14 in family dispute or in any crime against women.

In any crime against women, men treated as guilty as soon as the wife files a complaint against the husband. Then in such scenario, husband has to run to secure bail which is not a easy task. In general it takes 8-9 months in securing bail.

A husband after going through all the trauma and torture, denies the chances of reunion. So by this way we can say the law is made to break families.

If there is any argument comes like, DV or IPC 498a has made to protect women from harassment by family, then I simply say, that authorities never bothered to check the well-being of complainant woman. Authorities never went to residence of complainant women to verify how she is living or surviving.

After looking various scenario, it comes that a harassed husband do not accept reunion so easily due to the harassment he faced, and the law should have made in order to extend the possibilities of re-union.
