One sided statistics and narratives has destroyed millions of Men and families. Suffering of men has forgotten.

Whenever we hear the word dowry, dowry law, society immediately imagines women as victims and men as oppressors. Newspapers, TV channels, and NGOs repeat the oppressors narrative endlessly. One sided Statistics on dowry deaths of women are quoted again and again. But what about the suffering of men? Why is their pain invisible?

At Men Helpline, we see a very different picture. Behind every law that claims to protect women, there are hundreds of men and families being destroyed.

The Harsh Truth of Section 304B and 498A

Under Section 304B IPC (dowry death), if a wife dies in her matrimonial home, the husband and his family are automatically treated as culprits. No investigation, no fairness — just instant blame.

Under Section 498A IPC (dowry harassment), men can be arrested solely on the statement of a woman. Even the Supreme Court has called this a form of “legal terrorism” because of the widespread misuse.

But here’s the reality no one wants to discuss: when a husband dies due to harassment, financial pressure, or abuse by his wife, there is no law to protect him. In fact, the wife inherits all his property.

Is this justice?

The Silent Epidemic: Men’s Suicides

In 2022 alone, over 90,000 married men died by suicide (NCRB data). Family problems and marital stress were the biggest reasons. Compare this to the 6,516 reported dowry deaths of women, and you will see the imbalance in the narrative. More Importantly this law don’t lodge men’s death.

When a woman dies, society rushes to demand justice. But when a man dies, society shrugs. His death is dismissed as “personal problems,” never linked to harassment or extortion by his wife. This silence is nothing less than discrimination.

Alimony – Punishment for Being Married

Alimony is presented as a woman’s “right.” Courts force husbands to pay lifelong maintenance, even when wives are capable of working. At the same time, governments and NGOs run hundreds of programs for women’s financial empowerment.

So why do courts keep women dependent on men’s earnings? Is this empowerment? Or is it simply punishing men for the act of marriage?

We call this begging, not rights.

Marriage – A Burden for Men

Marriage has become a heavy burden for men. Wives demand that husbands:

Earn money for the household.

Share household chores like cooking and cleaning.

Fund luxuries and comfort.

And yet, the husband is treated as disposable, a servant in his own home. If disputes arise, the entire family — parents, siblings, relatives — can be dragged into criminal cases, all on the mere word of the daughter-in-law.

In business matters, the government talks about liberalization and growth. But in family matters, it promotes criminalization and destruction.

The Collapse of Indian Family Traditions

The sad reality is that decades of feminist lies and biased laws have broken down our Great Indian Family traditions. Families that once stood united are now shattered under the weight of false cases and extortion.

If giving gifts to husbands is called dowry and treated as a crime, then gifts to wives should also be treated as a crime. If demands by husbands are wrong, then demands by wives should also be wrong. Equality must be for both genders — not one-sided empowerment at the cost of men.

Our Call to Brothers

Brothers, we cannot stay silent anymore. The plight of men must be spoken about, written about, and brought into the open. Each false case, each suicide, each broken family is not just a personal tragedy — it is a national loss.

It is time to unite and fight against the misuse of dowry laws, against biased alimony systems, and against the false narratives that portray men only as oppressors.

The truth is simple: men are suffering too, and their suffering deserves justice.

For decades, we lived in a world where the narrative about gender was one-sided.

Whatever we knew about gender-based violence and oppression came only from what mainstream media, textbooks, Bollywood, and activist campaigns wanted us to believe. Stories about men being harassed, abused, or even killed were almost never told. The truth was buried under layers of propaganda.

Today, the rise of social media has changed that. Incidents of men’s harassment, abuse by women, and even cases where women have killed their husbands or abused senior citizens are now reaching the public eye—uncensored, unfiltered, and undeniable. But make no mistake—these incidents didn’t suddenly start happening. They have always existed. The difference is that now we have platforms where the truth can bypass the traditional gatekeepers.

The Myth of “Thousands of Years of Oppression”

One of the biggest lies ever sold to society is the feminist narrative that women have been oppressed for thousands of years. This claim has been repeated so often that it has been accepted as unquestionable truth. In reality, our cultural history tells a different story—one where women held a respected, even sacred place in the family and society.

Feminist activists have weaponized this myth to justify gender-biased laws, dismantle traditional family structures, and paint men as the villains of history. Over the last 70–80 years, this narrative has been carefully cultivated in schools, in the media, and even in government policies.

The Role of Bollywood in Male Demonization

Cinema has always been a powerful tool for shaping public opinion. For decades, Bollywood has churned out movies where men are portrayed as violent, cruel, and morally corrupt—while women are shown as eternal victims. These stories have seeped into our subconscious, influencing how society views men.

The result? A society that is quick to believe the worst about men and dismiss their suffering.

The Cost of Propaganda: A Broken Family System

The family system that sustained Indian society for thousands of years has been systematically weakened.

False narratives have created mistrust between men and women.

Laws have been skewed to favor women, often without safeguards against misuse.

Social attitudes have shifted to assume men are guilty until proven innocent.

The damage is visible—rising divorce rates, fatherless children, and increasing cases of depression and suicide among men.

The Truth Is Finally Out

Social media has given men a voice. Incidents that would have been buried in the past are now being discussed openly. People are questioning the old narratives and asking—why were we never told these stories before? Why was the suffering of men ignored?

The fight for truth is not about hating women—it’s about demanding fairness, equality, and an end to the propaganda that has fueled gender-based injustice for decades.

Finally:

The “men are monsters, women are victims” narrative is crumbling under the weight of reality. Thanks to social media, the truth about men’s harassment is finally coming to light. But this is only the beginning—if we want a society based on fairness, we must challenge false narratives, demand gender-neutral laws, and rebuild the trust that has been eroded over generations.

While Manav was seen calm, and composed but Manav’s wife has alleged that he was an alcoholic. This incident highlights the need for a safer and more supportive system for men.

In today’s society, much focus is placed on advancing women’s rights, but the struggles men face are often ignored—not just by the public, but by lawmakers as well. While the feminist narrative commonly highlights male privilege, it overlooks the fact that many legal systems and societal norms impose significant restrictions and hardships specifically on men, often to their detriment.

This blog highlights the legal restrictions and societal restrictions are imposed only on men.

Unfair Burdens on Men

Laws are meant to ensure fairness and justice for all, yet it seem to target men disproportionately. One glaring example is in family law. Courts tend to favor mothers in custody battles, treating fathers as secondary parents who must prove their capability, while mothers are assumed to be the natural caregivers. Similarly, men often face unfairly high alimony payments, based on the outdated assumption that men are always the primary earners, even when this is no longer the case.

A more alarming issue arises with false allegations of rape and molestation, where men can have their lives destroyed by mere accusations. In many cases, no evidence is required to tarnish a man’s reputation, career, and personal life, while women who make these false claims rarely face any legal consequences, even when the truth is revealed in court. The legal system fails to hold false accusers accountable, leaving men defenseless against such life-altering accusations.

Societal Expectations with Masculinity

Beyond legal issues, societal expectations impose their own set of restrictions on men. Traditional gender roles pressure men into being the providers, the protectors, and the emotionally stoic figures in both family and society. Deviating from these roles often leads to judgment and ostracization.

Men are conditioned to “tough it out,” suppress their emotions, and remain resilient no matter what challenges they face. As a result, men are less likely to seek help when struggling with mental health issues, contributing to higher rates of depression and suicide. Unlike women, men receive far less support when they break under these pressures, as society views emotional vulnerability in men as a weakness.

Additionally, men are expected to take on dangerous and physically demanding jobs at much higher rates, such as in construction, military service, and emergency response. These roles expose men to greater risks of injury or even death, yet this is often treated as an expectation, rather than a choice. The sacrifices men make are seen as par for the course, further entrenching the narrative that men must bear the brunt of physical and emotional labor.

Impact of False Allegations and Double Standards

One of the most damaging double standards in modern society relates to how allegations of harassment, rape, and molestation are treated. While all allegations of such crimes must be taken seriously, the presumption of guilt often falls disproportionately on men. An accusation alone can ruin a man’s life—professionally, personally, and socially—long before any evidence is brought to light. This “guilty until proven innocent” approach leads to severe consequences, even when the accusations are later proven false.

Perhaps the most troubling aspect of this issue is the lack of repercussions for those who make false allegations. When a woman falsely accuses a man of rape or harassment, even if the claims are demonstrably proven to be lies, the legal system seldom punishes the false accuser. Courts are often reluctant to take action, allowing the individual who lied to walk away without facing any meaningful consequences. This double standard leaves men vulnerable, with their lives shattered, while the accusers face little to no accountability.

Toward True Gender Equality

Addressing the unique challenges men face requires a shift in both legal reform and societal attitudes. Lawmakers need to acknowledge and address the biases in laws related to family matters, as well as in handling false allegations of sexual misconduct. Courts should hold individuals accountable for false accusations, ensuring that men are not unfairly punished based on unverified claims.

At the same time, societal expectations surrounding masculinity must evolve. Men should be encouraged to express their emotions, seek help when needed, and challenge the traditional roles that pressure them into dangerous or emotionally suppressive positions. Only by recognizing and addressing these issues can we move toward a society that values fairness and justice for all, irrespective of gender.

It’s time to dismantle the myth that men face no challenges in our legal and societal structures. The restrictions imposed uniquely on men are real, and they deserve the same attention and advocacy that women’s issues have rightfully garnered.

One of the major challenges in pursuing legal action against a false accuser is proving that the accusation was made with malicious intent. Courts require strong evidence to show that the accuser knowingly and deliberately made false statements with the intent to harm. This can be a difficult hurdle, but with the right legal representation and a well-documented defense, justice can be achieved.

The Consequences of False Accusations

False allegations of rape and sexual harassment are serious offenses, and their consequences can be life-changing. Even after acquittal, men’s reputation, dignity, and mental well-being may never fully recover. Public perception often remains negative, making it difficult for the wrongfully accused to rebuild their lives.

However, there are legal tools available to counter these false accusations, ensuring that those who misuse the law are held accountable for their actions.

Legal Remedies for False Accusations

If you’ve been acquitted in false rape or sexual harassment charges, there are several legal steps you can take to seek justice. Indian law has certain provisions to fight back against false allegations and malicious prosecutions.

Filing a Criminal Complaint

The Indian Penal Code (IPC) has multiple provisions under which you can file a criminal complaint if you’ve been falsely accused:

Section 211 – False Charge of Offense with Intent to Injure: This section is used against individuals who intentionally file false accusations to cause harm.

Section 182 – False Information Given to a Public Servant: If the accuser provided false information to the police or another public official with the intent to cause harm, you can file a case under this section.

Section 420 – Cheating and Dishonest Inducement: This section can be invoked if deception played a role in the accuser’s actions, especially if there was an ulterior motive like extortion or revenge.

Section 500 – Defamation: The wrongfully accused can file a defamation case if their reputation has been harmed by the false allegations. Section 500 seeks to compensate the accused for the damage to their personal and professional standing.

Section 120B – Criminal Conspiracy: If the false accusation involved multiple people conspiring to harm the accused, they can be charged under this section for criminal conspiracy.

Holding Public Servants Accountable

In many false accusation cases, public servants, such as police officers, may act improperly or fail to follow due process. If you believe that public servants mishandled your case, there are specific IPC sections under which you can hold them accountable:

Section 166 – Public Servant Disobeying Law with Intent to Cause Injury: If a public servant, such as a police officer, violated legal procedures or acted unlawfully in handling your case, you can take action under this section.

Section 167 – Public Servant Framing Incorrect Documents with Intent to Injure: If a public servant deliberately framed false documents, they can be prosecuted under Section 167.

Filing a Civil Suit for Compensation

Apart from criminal complaints, the wrongfully accused can file a civil suit seeking compensation for the damages they suffered due to the false accusations. This includes compensation for loss of reputation, emotional distress, legal fees, and career damage. Such a lawsuit can help to recover some of the losses caused by the false charges.

The Information Technology Act, 2000

If defamatory or explicit content was shared online to harass or defame the accused, the Information Technology Act, 2000 provides additional legal recourse. Under Section 67 (punishment for publishing obscene material) and Section 67A (punishment for publishing sexually explicit material), the accused can seek justice for the misuse of online platforms.

From criminal complaints under the IPC to civil suits for damages, the falsely accused have options to hold their accusers accountable and restore their reputation.

The age-old adage “Behind every successful man, there stands a woman” has existed for centuries but the sentiment has undergone a drastic shift after the rise of feminism.

Behind every successful man, it’s him alone. Man’s success is due to a complex interplay of factors, including his own hard work, talent, determination and importantly his own will. While the support of others can undoubtedly play a role regardless of gender.

In today’s societal landscape, the narrative has shifted. Behind every successful man, it’s him alone; the women’s empowerment has fostered a mindset of individualism among women, leading some women to prioritize personal gain over familial responsibilities. Such biased women has no vision for family, nor they concerned about the children.

The rise of feminism advocates for rights of women, but it is important to acknowledge that families are comprised of individuals of various genders, ages, and roles, it consists of men, women, children, and senior citizens. Focusing completely on individual rights or women’s rights has diminished the support which is essential for the well-being of the family as a unit.

Many such cases have been observed where highly educated and professional women seek alimony from their husbands, abandoning careers and familial duties in pursuit of free money from husband. However feminism claims the credit for providing women with greater autonomy, but the reality is that societal shifts and increased information exchange have played pivotal roles.

This narrative of individual empowerment has neglected the essential balance between power and responsibility. Feminism’s exclusive focus on rights without responsibilities poses a threat to the family institution, which is ultimately putting the burden on men who are compelled to focus on work for earning along with domestic tasks.

Now women are no longer interested in supporting their husbands, they do not want to take care husband’s old parents and even in many cases they do not even allow their husband to care them, however women could have supported their husbands in many ways, such as by providing emotional support, encouragement.

In today’s world, it is more accurate to say that behind every successful man it is him only and the network of people who have supported along the way. This network may include family, friends, mentors, colleagues, and strangers who have provided encouragement or inspiration. It is important to remember that success is not a solo journey; it is something that is achieved through the help and support of others regardless of gender.

In the matter where a girl at Lucknow, slapped more than 22 times to a Ola driver boy in 15 minutes, the action of UP Police is well appreciated, and we expect her arrest soon as per the law.

We highly appreciate the Uttar Pradesh Police, which has set a benchmark in the society by booking the Lucknow girl under IPC sections 394, 427. We have also analysed both the videos of her beating, thrashing the boy. We have also analysed her posts on FB, which is highly derogatory and challenging the laws. However, she inappropriately opened the gate of the car, dragged the boy, broken his mobile are something like trespassing someone property and stopping someone.

We also appreciate Swati Maliwal for seeking justice for the boy. In the matter, Netizens reaction was much awaited and appreciated that they come-up on time.

NCRB data indicates mass misuse of the process of law, which were made to protect women, but now these laws have become terror for men and boys. Even there is no protection of men in false cases, because most of the cases, decision comes after trial which takes years-n-years.

According to NCRB, conviction rate in Rape cases are 25.5, that means 75.5 percent men were falsely accused in rape cases, and they were jailed, they lost their reputation. The similar observation can be seen in “attempt to commit rape”, it is total 80.3 percent men were falsely accused.

It has become a fearful situation for our boys and sons that they cannot even act to save themselves from harassment by the woman. The reason is that, in such a situation no one can control his position and if by mistake any private part of the woman is touched then it attracts many sections of IPC including molestation cases.

There is a need to set an example in the society, and a message should be passed that wrong doers cannot roam freely, irrespective of gender.

Actress-turned-politician Nusrat Jahan has made a shocking denial of her marriage with Nikhil Jain, which Nusrat and Nikhil tied knot in year 2019 in a Turkish town.

Nusrat’s denial of matrimonial relationship with Nikhil is nothing but the result of immense women empowerment in our country. What she is saying may be legally correct but morally it is not. While she has accepted her marital status as married in her election affidavit.

I said, ‘immense women empowerment’, is just because, our system always see a woman as innocent while sees a man as perpetrator. The legal system uses a word ‘prima facie’, which is solely based on woman’s testimony. And all this is happening only because of feminist propaganda which has poisoned the mind of the society, I say this a ‘toxic feminity’.

What if Nikhil Jain had refused

‘हिम्मत है क्या किसी की, चक्की पिसेगा जेल में’, yes this not ver-adverb but a reality. In such a situation, feminists would have started protesting on the streets, the boy would have been accused of serious allegations like rape, the boy’s family members might have to face social boycott, and many legal and social complications would have to be faced.

Will Nusrat be expelled from the position of MP

I seriously doubt it, but I firmly believe that if there was a man who had given false information about marital status in his affidavit, he would have been expelled by now.

Marriage is a principle in itself

However marriage is based on some principles, but I say, marriage is also a principle itself, which derive one’s family, then the society and then the Nation.

Marriage a ‘सात जन्मों का बन्धन’, not adultery

According to her, the marriage solemn in a Turkish town is invalid in India.

This raises a question that whether a marriage is necessarily be legally correct not ethically or morally?

So if we believe over Nusrat logic of legally void marriage, then a woman can marry with different man in different countries. So by this logic, a woman can have different husband in different countries?

Marriage is not about Adultery

A marriage is all about trust and bonding of its own kind between a husband and wife. It’s about the experiences and understanding the two made.

But a marriage certainly do not allow, to be in relationship with many, that in one country one is wife of ‘Mr. A’ and when she moves to other country then her husband is ‘Mr. X’.

Although we understand that India is a liberal country, which does not criminalizes such adulterous relations, but as laws has been framed in such a way that it criminalizes being a husband, which gives freedom to the woman in other ways as well, the freedom to go into adultery by accusing her husband by misusing the process of law. So essentially it leads to more adulterous woman.

The law still exists, then what’s the point talking about adultery

Yes the laws still exists, but as I said India is liberal country. So a man can only approach to court to get divorce in such a scenario, and he can get divorce only if he has enough evidences. In case if it is lacking, then what the legal system sees, is that the husband is harassing his wife in every possible way.

See below, what netizens talking:

ज़रा सोचिए अगर किसी लड़के ने शादी के बाद अपनी शादी को अवैध कह कर लड़की को छोड़ दिया होता तो सारी छद्म नारीवादी छटपटा रही होतीं।

लड़के पर बलात्कार की धारा लग गयी होती।

सही या ग़लत को लिंग के चश्मे से देखना बंद कीजिए।

एक तरफ़ा क़ानूनों और सामाजिक व्यवस्थाओं को बदलने की ज़रूरत।
— Subuhi Khan (@SubuhiKhan01) June 9, 2021

It is reported that the duo from Sathankulam allegedly died in police custody after they beaten by police officers. The act of police was just for opening the shop in lockdown beyond the time limit in Tamilnadu.

If believing on social media, Barkha Dutt interview with Radio jock is spreading, which states that multiple time duo’s cloths soaked with blood were exchanged. Believe on other users, they claiming that, their inner parts was hit by sticks and they were kept in a place naked, away from CCTV.

The world is witnessing, how the Indian police is acting in lockdown. Several videos were seen on social media of police harassment during the lockdown, in which they assaulted men and committed various acts of human rights violations. It looks that “police officers has become the King while citizens has become their slave”.

We strongly urge the Tamil Nadu government to book all the police officials at the station for father-son death in police custody. Lessons should be given to such culprit in the system so that others do not take such unfair and inappropriate steps, which is either violation of human rights of it become matter of life and death of any citizens.

Now the family has been destroyed, think about the family that suddenly they have lost “Karta” of the home, and they will never forget the pain the father-son duo has faced from 19 June till 23 June, Tuesday.

We also demand from the government to divide the state police, as the state police has too much power so that a police officer can do arresting, crime-scene recreation, investigation, chargesheet, reporting the incident in knowledge of court etc. This means that a police officer has all the power, and in such a situation it becomes easier for the officers to misuse their power.

The duo death is just not the murder of two lives, but this is murder of our constitution, and being a responsible citizen, we cannot let anyone play with our Nation and the Constitution.

Friday, Sonali Phogat visited Hisar market concerning the farmers grievances but the way she tried to politicise her visit is Not commendable. Men Helpline condemned such behaviour of Sonali Phogat for misusing the process of law to harass a man.

Phogat called the market secretary Sultan Singh in private and then accused him of using inappropriate language for her. So if this was public visit in the market, why you took him in private. The important thing is that Singh was very cooperative and polite all the time and even then when you were beating him, why did he suddenly loose the tempo in your private discussion.

After looking at the entire scenarios and link every aspect, it appears that you went there to satisfy you personal reasons. It was more influenced by your personal reasons while you fraudulently projected your visit an official one.

How can you thrashed any citizen just for your personal reason, who is officially deployed and working honestly. Even you misused the process of law which has essentially made to protect women. Madam you was there with 2-3 four wheeler with more than 8-10 young guys, and you stating it was a official visit.

Men Helpline condemned any kind of shame and harassment with men, just to satisfy their personal vendetta. This is again a human rights violation that, she publicly shamed Mr Singh for the crime he never did.

We being a mens rights organisation, demand Hisar police to arrest Sonali Phogat for thrashing, abusing, stopping a public servant to work, misusing the process of law and institution of criminal proceeding by falsely accusing a person.

We request BJP Haryana wing to suspend her for lifetime from party for the above said conduct. That she was a TikTok star and she made the life of Mr Singh a TicTok, who was forced to feel ashamed for the act he did not committed. He has been shamed in public just because he is a man and Phogat successfully able to shame him because she is a woman.
